Digital GIS Coverages

Digital map information created for this project is available in a Winzip file as an ArcView shapefile (.shp). The .shp file can be viewed with the ArcExplorer® software provided on this CD or obtained from the Environmental Systems Research Institute's (ESRI) web site. All digital data are in Rhode Island State Plane Feet, NAD83 coordinates.

Coastal Wetland Trends(click to download data)- Coastal wetland polygons in the Rhode Island portion of the Narragansett Bay delineated from 1996 true color aerial photography and coastal wetland polygons delineated from 1950s black and white aerial photgraphy to show losses, gains and change in coastal wetland and open water from 1950s to 1990s. This data also shows trends from 1930s to 1950s to 1990s in six demonstration sites.
